The structure and design of M.A.T. 12 allow for high performance in a very wide spectrum of wind. A narrow hull and fine bow at the waterline, ensuring a fast pace in mild weather conditions by decreasing the friction, the light yet strong structure lets the boat carry a 3.6 ton ballast to ensure balance when wind gets more adventurous. The aluminum structure diffusing the keel and rig loads to the whole hull helps to ensure the complete conversion of wind power into speed, thanks to minimized bending. Moreover, the losses suffered under heavy showers are eliminated.
